We are proud to announce that the 1st Latin America Congress on Controversies to Consensus in Diabetes, Obesity and Hypertension (CODHy) will take place in Buenos Aires, Argentina, March 11-14, 2010.

 

The 1st and 2st World CODHy Congresses that took place in Berlin in 2006 and in Barcelona in 2008, with over 4,500 physicians all together, are the first scientific meeting of their kind, focusing on dynamic topics and controversial issue facing the clinician today.

 

Based on the success of these meetings, and on feedback from the participants, the 1st CODHy Latin America Congress will be devoted to evidence-based discussions amongst chairpersons, speakers and the audience, all of whom will examine and analyze the most relevant issues raised in 2009 and 2010 within the fields of Diabetes, Obesity and Hypertension.

We will also include discussions on several of the large ongoing clinical studies that are scheduled to end during 2009-2010 in order to resolve controversies and reach a consensus.

 

The Latin America Congress will be more locally oriented. It will focus on typical and classical diabetes issues related to the region in terms of epidemiology, genetics, diagnostics, typical complications and distinctive responses to treatments.

 

This Congress will provide a broader stage for oral presentations from the regional population. Central debates on the various relevant issues will also be translated into the local regional language (Spanish), thereby providing most of the professionals with a better understanding of the topics.

 

At least fifty percent of the Faculty will be local, in order to facilitate the involvement of a large number of participants in the debates, and to discuss typical regional problems.
